BMW Apps Setup

Finally took delivery of my Z4. I'll post pics when I get a free minute to take them.

My first question is, how do I get BMW Apps setup? I ordered the option but I don't see how to get it rolling. I searched the forum and didn't see much.

Any help?

I was just trying to fig it out last night too.

You have to DL BMW Connected from the app store on your phone.
Then you go to Multimedia>Connected drive and youll see BMW Apps in the list.

Thats as far as ive gotten so far.

Hmm... that's not working for me. I wonder if it's because I'm using the Y-cable I grabbed from my M3. I ordered the iPod and USB adapter as a part of the premium sound package but I didn't get another Y-cable.

Does anyone know if the Y-cable I need is different than one from an '09 M3?

I think you have to hook it up via USB

Yes, I read the manual.

Jay, thanks for the video.

I got it working just fine. There were apparently two issues, although I can't be sure which one fixed it for me.

1- I used Apple's white USB cable instead of the BMW Y-cable from my M3.
2- I shut off my iPhone then restarted it.

The next time I plugged it in (with BMW Connected open), my Z4 recognized it.

Thanks!
