Ridiculous lease deals on Z4's right now
.0005 money factor on a 30 month lease!!
I was quoted about $550/month including tax with around $3500 out of pocket at signing for a 3.5 w/DCT, Sport, Premium, & Upgraded white leather. This deal is for this month only because they want to get them back in the spring of 2011. They must really want to get these tings on the road. Because I would basically be paying the exact same amount for a $60K Z4 as I am for my 335i sedan with a $45K sticker!

Lease deal IS good...
I got the lease deal on Friday as well. Leasing a Z4 3.5 with dual-clutch for the same deal mentioned.
I think the residual on a 30 month with 10k/year was 63%. I remember it being "bold" on the residual list, indicating it was a special promotional residual for August only. It was the highest residual of any new BMW (and interesting to compare to a M3, which I think was in the 40s! Love the car, I traded in a 2003 Z4 2.5, so this is a night and day difference. Having some issues with the BMW Assist, but other than that love it. Adam '09 Z4 3.5 '08 750i |

The 2 are not the same price. The Boxster S is $5000 more and may be missing a few features the Z5 35i has as standard. That would widen the gap further.
An 10%-12% price difference will be a factor for most buyers. It was for me, in addition to the fact the Z4 is a brand new design vs. the 10 year old body style on the Boxster S. |

PM me if you want the same deal, I can have the salesman broker for you if your local dealer wont give you the $550 price.

I factored in that anyone off the street can get almost 15-20% off of msrp for an S, so yes the price point is pretty close. The exterior may be similar, but the 09 is a new beast. It is pound for pound one of the best handling cars in the world. Take into account the new PDK transmission, and a true mid-engine car and you have something truely special. I've driven both cars, and while the Z is a great incarnation, a head turner, and a nice BMW piece. It is not the S is equal. My nickel. Now if it was an 08 then I may tip the scale and favor the Z. If you havent driven both do so and you may think differently. |
