Hehehe, all people have to do is slap on some 437M rims and you have one stout looking E89

So while people are thinking of getting rid of their E89 Z4 35i(s) others are busy trying to make their new cars look like the E89

You said it, I didnt. Look also at where the aerodynamics are at ie on the door and the side fender grills. Merc just made it bigger. Curved down front end, and egg rounded rear if you take the spoiler off the Merc or throw a spoiler on the Z4. The Merc is a much larger and heavier car than the Z4 no doubt.

I am guilty of reading too many automotive magazines. They create interest by rating cars against each other, on and off the track. the enthusiast population is influenced by what they say. I remember the endless rote comments about the rear suspension of the Z3 and the failure of the E85 to be a Boxster. They were almost cut and paste. Both of these cars enjoy a big following now. As for the E89, they actually ridiculed the styling and the handling while always reminding us that it was no Cayman or Boxster.. The E89 was introduced at the depths of the financial crisis amid that kind of punditry. Sales never really got going after that and meanwhile the Corvette was getting better every year and garnered a very big share of the sports car market here in the U.S. My point in saying all this is that this is the kind of negative background from which interesting opportunities often emerge in later years. E.g. the Z3 Coupe etc.
