Something wrong with the engine on my 35i?

Hi! I currently drive a 2013 z4 35i model. My warranty ends within 2 weeks and I am concerned with the engine itself. The problem is engine rpm is not stable. When I am at a stop with the brake, the rpm goes up little bit and goes back down few times. Also, once in every month, I am putting on a brake and the rpm went up to like 3k with no reason. I am just backing up the car very slowly with the brake and rpm went up again. Anybody know what the cause is? Is this normal?

Get it to the dealer before your warranty expires. I am in exactly the same place with the warranty expiring on 2/28. Had an indie shop inspect the car two weeks ago and last week had the dealer do probably a couple thousand dollars worth of repairs on it.

All the dealership i went to in los angeles did not want to fix any problem unless they found the problem by themselves. Is it possible to just inspect the car at indi shop and make the dealership fix the problem?

That's what I did. It helps if you have established a good relationship with a service advisor. However, if you can demonstrate to the dealer what the problem is, they have no choice but to address it.

If nothing else have it documented that you went to the dealership with the complaint about that issue before your warranty expired. That way if it recurs and they find the cause later you might still get it fixed at no cost to you.
