Window reset help.
On a few occasions I have had my window not move down the little bit when I open the door. Or it seems to forget to stop short when the door is open and I roll up the window so when I close the door the window is too high. This problem will go away after a period of time, sometime a few minutes or a day or so.
I also sometimes get the "Dancing windows" when they go down automatically at the top of range. Again this is not always the case, and seems to go away without my intervention. Is there a way to reset the window limits without going to the dealer? The appointment and Service Adviser is such a PITA. Thanks in advance for any advice. Car is a 2012 and has about 14k miles. |

As far as I know, the windows have to be re-calibrated at the dealer. At least that's what I nad others had to do.

This is the process that I was advised from the dealer, although I've see others/similar on the web:
1. turn the ignition on (without starting car) 2. put both windows to their fully down position (using both left and right window switches, obviously) 3. press both left and right switches down for 15 seconds 4. straight after the 15 seconds pull and hold both left and right window switches upwards to raise windows to fully closed 5. without releasing the switches, when windows are fully up count another 15 seconds 6. release switches, and reset should be complete. This seems to work for me. |
