Any Great Warranties Out There

Seriously considering a used Z4 35i or 35is. Do any of you have a good reliable warranty company you can recommend? One that has actually paid for your repairs without a 17 day argument!

I'm sorry, I just don't want to own one of these things without a warranty. Been there, done that - never again! I've also been screwed by warranty companies. "Yes sir, I know our booklet says gaskets are covered, but it's referring to other gaskets, not the one you need". True statement.

I know some people say just put money aside to cover costs, but I'd rather just have a good warranty I can count on.

Thanks.

Many credit unions offers extended warranties through a company called IWS. Credit union dude said they have had good success with them and no complaints. You can have your car repaired at a BMW dealer (IWS says they "partner" with BMW). I confirmed with my local BMW dealer that they do accept IWS's warranty program. BBB rated A+

3 years ago I purchased a 4 year 80K miles, Platinum Plan (Exclusion policy that covers everything except of course maintenance items) Transferable to next owner for $45. Or you can get a prorated refund. Has the usual road side service, car rental etc.

Cost was $1576 including tax. (I am a member of the credit union but did not finance my car through them)

I've never been a huge fan of extended warranties but with the retractable hardtop, DCT and twin turbos I knew that one trip to the dealer for any of those issues would probably more than pay for the warranty.

IWS, absolutely recommend. I have had them almost 2 years and have had very good approval success.

Thanks guys. Do you have to go through a credit union to buy it or can you deal with them directly? Also do you guys have a web address for them?

I've had good luck with Warranty Direct on my past BMW's. Worried about any problems with the complex top mechanism I bought a 7 year full coverage warranty on my 2010 3.0 Z4. Coverage includes all electronics. Cost was close to $4000 but was worth it as I plan to keep car and warranty makes a sale easier if I ever decide to sell at some point.

Back when I was shopping for warranty, I did a lot of google search for top extended warranty companies.

Endurance, Carchex consistently popped up for me. However, Endurance was the one that was on like 80% of the sites so I took a gamble with Endurance. I also had a big concern with the roof mechanism failing. Not all extended warranty would cover the roof mechanism but Endurance does.

I'm paying ~2750 for 5 year, 60000 miles.

I haven't gotten my money's worth yet

So far I've only gotten a failed battery sensor and HPFP replaced which I predicted would happen at 30k miles, I got it at 29k.

I'm sure my turbo wastegates would eventually fail and I'll probably get my money's worth there.
