CDV

Has anyone done a CDV delete? I want to know if a modified valve is needed or can the stock valve be removed and the inlet and outlet lines be connected together.

I didn't realize E89s had this feature on the 6MT. Why would BMW put this on a car with sporting pretensions?
BTW; why are you just now considering removing it after all these years/miles?

BMW puts it on all MT cars (not sure about M's).

You can buy a gutted CDV that replaces factory CDV. You need valve body to connect lines togethet

Dummy CDV not needed (plenty of line). remove, reconnect and bleed the slave. I put a pass thru CDV in before I knew how mod friendly my dealer was....

Just do it, tear it off. I did, never regretted. Brings a great deal of predictability, straighness and linearity in clutch behaviour/response.

I just removed mine a couple of hours ago, reconnected the hose to the slave and bled. Can't believe how smooth 1st to 2nd shift is now! No more boggle head for the wifey.

On a side note, the CDV off my 2013 Z4 was completely plastic except for the orifice hole. Everything on this car is plastic!
