Tattoos? Post them up

Have been thinking about getting a tat, but was wondering how many of yoy guys have them. Anyone here regret it, is it ever a concern at work?

I've been working on a few designs, but haven't been too serious.
Post pics!

I've always wanted to get one but have no idea what to get and will probably never pull the trigger.

IMHO, I'm not a fan. Tattoos to me seem like a personal advertisement for shortsightedness.

Here is my most recent one... Everything in this piece means something to me, I could care less how the rest of you feel.

I respect that. On the other hand, I really like them. Specially when they mean something to the person.

Exactly how less could you care? Sorry, pet peeve of mine

Tattoos are a personal thing. I've wanted one for a while, but I never wanted to get something stupid that you see on someone else at some point. I planned on designing my own, and actually came up with some good ideas. Never pulled the trigger though, and probably won't at this point. Nothing against them, I just probably won't do it.

FWIW, some of them will prevent you from getting certain jobs. My sister is trying to be a state trooper, she's got a flower design on her wrist. They told her if she shows up at the academy with that on her arm still, they will send her home.

Now she's in the process of getting it removed, not fun.

I guess it depends on where you have the tattoos and what kind of work you do. A neck tattoo or a tattoo on the top of your had is a job killer. I have a full sleeve on my left arm and 3/4 of the way done completing the one on my right. I have held management level positions at a couple fortune 500 companies. Since I wear suits or at least long sleeve dress shirts with a tie, no one is able to see my tattoos. What I do in my spare time or how I look outside of work has not effect on how I perform my job duties and has yet to keep me from moving up the corporate ladder.

I really like the dragon. I wanted a sleeve, but I just dont think I could pull that off so I settled for ink on my wrist.

I agree with you, but tell that to the people that get fired for stupid Facebook posts!!

I have a small piece on my shoulder (deltoid). I can easily hide it even with a short-sleeved shirt. I was going to extend it down to a half-sleeve, but haven't done it yet and probably won't. Not sure why...

People who get fired from facebook post really need to learn how to use the privacy settings. It should be common sense by now.

Here's a couple of mine. I also have one more on my hip. I don't regret them at all. I'm actually wanting to do a 1/2 or 3/4 sleeve this summer.

good to know; i've been strongly considering a full sleeve (a bit before or at wristwatch length) and i've always been curious as to how those with sleeves go about office life. good to know in your case it's as if it isn't there. do your coworkers know of it at all?
