Aftermarket oil cooler?
Might be a long shot, but has anything tried to fit the ER oil cooler in their Z4?
http://www.n54tuning.com/er-sport-oil-cooler.html http://www.evolutionracewerks.com/node/133 it looks like just mounting and the optional shroud would need to be modified.

Any luck TT? I love your build and hopefully will follow suit in the future.

I ordered the STETT one. They have custom brackets/mounting etc. for e89 if you email them to place your order.

FAIL. Brackets do not work.... A big shout out to SSR Performance in Los Angeles for being patient and assisting with the mounting you see below.
After finally coming up with a mounting solution my 300 oil temp canyon runs are no more! So success even though STETT is a total fail with their "supposed" e89 Z4 brackets. |

The brackets provided did not work at all. New mounting brackets will need to be fab'ed. If you want to use the brackets with provide you will need to hack out a section of sheet metal below the passenger side headlight. Even at this point you would need to use a smaller core angled at 45 degrees to make it work. The brackets you see are all custom one off and nothing sent from STETT. Personally I think the "new" mounting location now is slightly better due to more airflow vs the side but now my worry is when I get a FMIC.... but there is actually still quite a bit of room to play with so I should be OK.
