Sometime ago I read that some of you guys were talking about the best product for cleaning your wheels....i remember someone saying 'Green...something or other!!' was good.
I've got the multi spokes as would like to hear what you guys think works the best. Cheers. |

I started that thread and after a bit of research I now use 'Eagle One A2Z All Wheel and Tire Cleaner'.
Spray on foam. Wait 30 seconds. Wash off with hose. Works perfect every time. No Acid. No need to scrub or wipe. Gets in all the small spaces. Highly recommended! I use to spend 5min per wheel cleaning, now it takes 30 secs and it does a better job. It gets the calipers and deep in the rim shiny as new too. JZ |

Not sure, I would check your local autostores online.
If not you can order anything from online vendors like Amazon and they will ship to your door. I've ordered lots of car accessories online from across the pond. I recommend you start with Amazon.com they are pretty convenient when it is not available locally. JZ here is one for our UK friends: http://www.eagleone.com/pages/retail...wide.asp?wid=3 |

i was the one that said "simple green pro HD", but i'll have to try that one that JayZone says. you could also try BMW's gel or P21s. not sure what's easily available in the UK.

Personally I find that products that don't require any scrubbing with a wheel brush are too strong for my liking. Of course it all depends on how obsessed you are about car cleaning.
For what it's worth, take a look at AutoGlym products. I use the 'Custom Wheel Cleaner'. It's very mild (the 'Clean Wheels' product is stonger) and does a good job but you do need to use a wheel brush and depending on how caked in brake dust your wheels are, may need a second application. But is kind to your alloys. I'm into my car detailing so don't mind spending the extra time but just my 2 pence worth. |

I use the BMW Wheel cleaner - works great - simplly spray on - wait - use a paint brush to be sure its everywhere - and hose off - if sold by BMW - you can be sure you wont have a warantee problem later with brakes or wheels -

Eagle One All Wheel & Tire cleaner is Alkaline based. It's safe to use on all wheels. Unlike the acidic cleaners that will eventually eat away your finish.
The Eagle solution simply breaks the bond between the brake dust and your rim surface and the foam suspends the particles until you wash it away. It won't harm your finish and there is no way it will void your warranty. But they are all good products so it comes down to a matter of preference. BMW wheel cleaner is licensed from a commercial product. JZ |

there is only one wheel cleaner i use anymore, p21s. by far the best wheel cleaner i have ever used, no acids, will not harm anything. fyi, i use the normal cleaner, good enough if you clean your wheels once a week or once every two weeks. otherwise, you may want to get the gel version.

Here in australia we have a brand for brake pads callled Bendix - the surface of the pads are white (as far as i recall they are ceramic pads) and i used to have them on my previous Nissan zx's and the dust problem was gone, will find out if they are available for my Z4, dusty wheels seems like an eternal nuisance.
*edit * just found the link to getting dustless pads: http://www.bendix.com.au/User_Upload...ake%20dust.pdf waiting on their email reply to see if they have them for the E89 Z4 Last edited by Drk280; 01-20-2010 at 10:21 PM.. |

You need to get some Armorall wheel PROTECTANT. You spray it on. Leave it to dry overnight then do another light coat in the morning. Leave it to dry for an hour then drive. This stuff works to prevent brake dust adhering in the first place to your wheels on BMWs. IT WORKS very very well. A genuine cheap, miracle product.
Make sure you get an even coverage otherwise you will get black spots showing where dust builds up. I have had mine on for about 2 months and my wheels still look decent (not driven in wet though). |

get the one sold by BMW. guys, you won't believe the results it gives by only applying water pressure to the wheel after being sprayed and seated for 10 to 15 min.
seeing is believing!

careful with dawn. detailers use it to remove wax, polymer's (like zaino, etc), before applying new wax/polymers. if you have some type of paint sealant on your wheels, do not use dawn. if you have paint sealant on your car, be careful not to splash some on your paint.
i use dawn twice a year on my cars to strip off all the old wax/polish (zaino in my case) before i proceed with detailing the car (clay, etc). |
