Headlight issues?

Is there a known issue with the headlights on these cars? My cars got almost 2k on the odo and has already been serviced once because my headlights point down. They fixed it and it was like night and day. Tonight, again they went back into the tilted down position. I think originally, all they did was readjust the direction but Im thinking its something else. Has anyone has this happen? This is getting a bit ridiculous. Ive been almost hit a number of times because no one sees me at night.

I also have an '11 and my headlights also point downward on low beam and I feel it is dangerous. The high beams are fine. I will be going to the dealer soon and am glad to know mine is not the only one to do this.

Check the headlight levelling sensor. It's located in one of the wheel wells, connected by a little rod to the suspension.
I believe there was a thread on that subject a few months ago, search for it.

this also happened to me about 6 months ago. (I had it for about a year or so when everything was fine)

1 day I suddenly notice that my headlights was pointing downwards that I can hardly see more than 1 car lengths. (high beam looked fine)

I tried to look for the adjustment inside the bonnet but couldn't see anything that looks like it, so I booked a time to have a dealer looked at it. (the dealer I took the car to wasn't where I bought the car, since it is about 5 mins from where I work, and it is way too far to take it to where I bought it form).

They had a look and said everything was fine but just did an adjustment, and wanted to charge me $220 AUD. They already completed the job when I picked up my car and I wasn't happy at all since they haven't told me anything about the cost beforehand, so they end up charging me half the price.

Anyways after the adjustment the difference is night and day and I can see much better. (but now after the adjustment it seems that it is aiming a bit too high, and I get high beamed from oncoming traffic very often). But I'm not about to fiddle with the settings after paying $110 for it..........

Would you happen to replaced your stock H8 bulbs to aftermarket LED or something like that? I had an aftermarket LED angel eye replacement and the problem occured after using that for about 2-3 months. Of course it might have nothing to do with that, but it could also be that the part hanging in the bulb compartment was generating too much heat causing something to go off. I took out the LED bulb in case the dealer would blame everything on it, but since then I have only been using the stock H8 bulb.

Same problem. Dealer has looked at it twice and has been unable to reproduce, and therefore unable to fix. It's intermittent...sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's so bad the lights only light about a car length. Seems worse when it's cold; not sure. No aftermarket led's or anything; everything is still stock. '11 35is with HID's.

You thought that the lights werent supposed to light up the road at night? This was definitely present from the day I brought home the car. It was fixed before I installed the lux angel eyes and theyve been in for about a couple of weeks. Its definitely something to do with the sensor because they dont pop up when the car is turned on. Made an appt for thursday. This is already the 3rd time its going in and Ive had it 2 months.

no they turn on but the low beam is very close to the cars nose, on the dark road i can only see about 10 feet ahead

I would let them know in no uncertain terms that I was not happy and have them check the entire mechanism. From what you describe there has to be something loose in the mechanism something they keep overlooking. Tell them you expect a bit more from there knowledgeable maintenance team to resolve this issue. Let us know how you make out.

Good luck
