Heater stuck on hot air

Hey all,

For some reason, my heater got stuck on hot air. I can regulate the airflow and the temperature. However, the 'minimum' temperature of 18 degrees is way off and must be around 25 at least. I have to drive with the windows open or with the airflow cut off because it just gets too warm in that little cabin.
I have not tested it very well yet, but I'm under the impression that the aircon works but to a lesser degree; I can't get it really cold in the car.

I've tried turning the knobs to both extends for a couple of times. Airflow full open or closed. Aircon blasting for a while. Restarted the car a couple of times; nothing helped.

My common sense says a failing temperature sensor is disrupting things, or some valve which should stay shut to keep warm air from entering the airflow, stays half open.
I am not sure but expect the knobs not to be connectec mechanically but only electronically to the heater system, so it's unlikely that they are broken.

I've got a 3000km trip on the planning for Monday and during the weekend no mechanic is open off course, so I hoped that someone here had experience and resolved this issue so I might be able to take care of it on Monday morning or somewhere during my trip. Because otherwise this issue could become a fair pain in the ass.

Suggestions are welcome.

Just checking, did you try moving the dial below the vents to cool (blue) from warm (red), or cycling it a few times?

This is a nice way for the driver/passenger to customize the temperature for them from the "auto" temp.

So, the auto temp is set to what you want and the air flow coming out at you upper body/face is this temp. Often times, someone may prefer cooler air on the face/upper body or warmer air than what auto is currently delivering

Ok, thnx for explaining that. Makes sense.

With regards to the heating stuck on hot air problem: it seems to have sorted itself :/ The only thing I did was dialing the temperature to max and then to minimal before starting the engine. I can hardly imagine that had anything to do with the solution but who cares. It is back to normal so I'm a happy man again.

Now if only my windshield wouldn't get so dirty on the inside every couple of hours I would be more than happy....!
