But put yourself in his shoes for a second. Would you turn down a gig from one of the biggest shows on earth? I can't say I blame him to be honest

I said it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out. I would rather he kept doing his own thing and kept building up his own brand and who knows.. possibly starting his own show and doing things exactly how he wants, instead of what the BBC wants.

I don't think this will ever happen. You can't replace the old crew with a new one and expect the same product. Ever IMO. That doesn't mean the show can't be great, but it needs to play to each persons existing personality / strengths. This seems like a lot more diverse group of hosts than the latter...

in order this show to survive, they need to run away from the previous format and by choosing these 3 presenters they did, it's a totally new different show but with the same name... TopGear.

Will be interesting to watch. Great news!!
The OP isn't quite accurate though with regards to Sabine. She is still a race driver and competes for Frikadelli (also the name of a German meat dish served at her parents restaurant I believe) racing in the VLN long distance series at the Nurburgring. She has raced in a 911 GT3 for many years now. So I dont know about the M affiliation being so strong... http://www.frikadelli-racing-team.de Her doing Nurburgring laps with different cars for each episode would be awesome though!!!!! |

The show will be better.
Including Sabine and Harris will make the show more acceptable to a broad audience. Frankly, the Clarkson era had become uncomfortable to watch. The humor never matured. Wit is by far a greater virtue than sarcastic humor. And sarcasm is like all humor that belittles human character, which with time wears an audience's patience. The old show was sarcastic and seemed an eternal repetition of the same old joke - exaggeration. Sabine is simply attractive and talented as a super successful racer and very fast at the wheel. She is inspiring to watch. And Harris contributes lots of good information in a short period of time. The show will finally have some real substance. Top Gear will finally have a bit of journalism. Good bye rancid humor and welcome witty auto journalism. |
