I think I have EDC?

I have a 2012 sdrive35is. It allows for comfort, sport and sport+ via a switch next to the shifter. Do I definitely have EDC? Is there a way to tell for sure? With my 2014 335i the sport/sport+ button seems to make a much bigger difference with the feel of the suspension.. the sdrive35IS not so much.. so that's why I'm asking.

With normal driving the suspension doesn't feel too bad but once I start to accelerate or slowdown the car seems to feel like it's on a sponge. Also with "spirited" driving you sort of lose the feel of the road a bit.

thanks,
Mike

You can remove a wheel and take a look.
They have an electrical cable attached.

On the Z4 35is EDC is standard from factory.
Someone could have changed it though.

Top of strut will have electrical cable coming out of it if they have it.

Anyone ever actually use the EDC delete from KW and have it work? Been reading on some other forums that the EDC delete from KW doesn't seem to always work?

Looking for some first hand experience.

thanks,
Mike

Ultimately I want to buy bilstein coilovers because of all the issues i had with KW support... then I was at least willing to buy the KW EDC delete but I'm not sure if this is a combination that is even supported.

It works. No codes from edc. But it retains the maps for throttle response and steering. The kwv3 is much better than stock.

The dampers also have their own fuse. You can check the fuse diagram to see whether your car has it. Pulling it also allows for a good test about maximum harshness

(Yes I realize accessing fuses in the e89 is the equivalent of an engine-out service on other cars, but still...)

Mike, do you have 19s with RFT? I switched to 18s and non rft (Dunlop zii) and it helped with the road feel.

The damper differences across modes were subtle on my car. I noticed it most when going over a speed bump, in the way the rear moved up and down
