Front Strut Rebuild Possible?
Is it possible to rebuild the front strut? Does it have a replaceable cartridge?
The OEM strut for the electronically controlled suspension is $600 so just checking if there's a cheaper option. |

I was wondering the same thing. I recently had mine replaced when I purchased the car under warranty and I noticed the leak and took it in. I convinced them to give me the old one knowing that back in the day they could be re-built. But I'm wondering if it's the same with the new ones. I would love to have it done and have a spare.

Had to replace both of mine at once due to leaks, and they are the adaptive EDC ones you have. Never saw or considered the option to rebuild them. Spent $2400 in total. Here is my thread from this forum FYI.

I only have 40k miles, which seem too soon for them to be completely shot. One of them is completely gone and the other is definitely leaking. My mechanic friend told me these cars end up sitting a lot so the seals dry out and then end up leaking quicker than normal. |
