Yesterday, the tool was for 3 cars, but after my idea, Prochip changed to 1 car
Am I doing something wrong?
Or Prochip wants more money from us??

Update!

Today i sent 6 tools. I have emailed you guys with trackingnumbers.

Tomorrow or latest on thursday i will send the rest.

I am both dissapointed and sorry for the bad comments there have been here specially about Andreas and Prochip.

I have ordered 3 tools from him and always got excellent service and support.

The first one was the TVfree and i needed it fast for my vacation. Andreas told me he could not guarantee delivery in time with DHL, he recommended UPS in that case. I got the tool after 2 or 3 days , i don't remember exactly but i got it well in time for my car-vacation.

After that I have ordered both TVactive and CTMfree and both work flawless!

I have had problem before with shipment of my roadsterbags (not from Prochip) wich was shipped by DHL and my bags where lost for more than 5 weeks before DHL finally "found" them.

So there are absolutely no need for talking down Prochip here on the forum.

Regarding the "3 car limit" my thoughts about that was great considering if you have a lease and get a new car now and then or for a family with several BMW's. I never ever considered to sell it on to someone else. I also want to be able to reverse the settings quickly before any unexpected service.

I think that was the idea and a very generous idea towards any customer.

Anyway i hope in the future we can enjoy our Z4's with or without smart mods of the ECU.
If there are any interrest in the future for another group-buy I will try to help! (I have learned alot from this, so next time will be easier).

I also got a lot of support from Prochip so they have a great part in getting this to work!

I'm guessing the limit is "1 car at a time", so if you get a new car, you should be able to simply uninstall it from your old car, and install it in the new one. Otherwise the service scenario you descibe above wouldn't be possible. The rest of your family will have to buy their own tool

Gentlemen: these features and more have been standard for quite some time on SmartTOP, SmartTV and remoteKEY modules:

remoteKEY+

smartTV

smartTOP

More info can be found on our site, this is especially convenient for US Z4 owners.

Tom,

Read the thread. Your smart module require a tricky installation of a module in the car. The ones we are buying is just a program going through the OBDII interface... and much cheaper too.

Doc

Doc Feels good!

Let's do this again! But this time group-buyers will have to add 4% (Paypal fee) Will still be a very good price on a very good tool!

If there are any more that are interrested in Prochip tools, PM me. As my work requiers me to be out of town several days in a row it sometimes takes a few days for me to answer.

Also check: www.prochip.de/e89

The SmartTV install involves cutting wires and tapping a nearby +12V and Ground, which is on the same Bulkhead connector. smartTOP or remoteKEY does not involve any wire cutting and comes with it's own harness.

Here's some bullet points:

- Easy installation, approximately 30-45 minutes
- USB upgradeable as new features or compatibility fixes are released
- Workshop mode to enter "stealth mode" to prevent any issues with diagnostic equipment
- Cannot be overwritten by replacement of control modules or dealer updates
- Can be removed at anytime and sold or transferred to another vehicle
- Made in the USA

Some complex features (think macros) that the modules have simply cannot be flashed and require a separate controller - which is what the module allows.

Gentlemen, feel free to read up on the devices before making a choice.

This is why i went for the TVfree and CTMfree from Prochip:

TVfree Installation:
- Open OBD-2 connector lid.
- Connect TVfree to OBD.
- Turn on ignition.
- Press green button on TVfree-tool.
- Screen will reboot.
- Remove TVfree-tool.
- Close lid.
- ENJOY!

Time to install: 45 seconds. Time to uninstall: 45 seconds.

CTMfree:
- Easy installation thru OBD interface, takes 45 seconds. (Same as for TVfree)
- No need to update.
- No need to “hide” as there are nothing to hide. If you feel unsure about this, you can deactivate before going to service. Does not bleed your battery.
- If any related modules changed or dealer updates affect function, just reinstall.
- Made in Germany

I have started an poll here to see what you would value more from Prochips tools.

A 3 car limit where you can use the tool as many times as you like on these 3 cars! (Family mode)

OR

Tool married to car and when deactivated it can be remarried to a new car! and so on.
Even if married ther will be only a one night stand for it and you can put it on the shelf. Nothing to hide. best stealth there is!
