Z4 Experts

Fell in love with 340BHP in Munich - but thats a 2013 model...

This has come up.... it has 7 speed DCT and 306 BHP on an 2009.

What do you think????

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...1500?logcode=p

WBAC valued it at 12 I was going to offer 16?

Love you in advance

you can get a cobb tune that will boost you well past 340 to the 390/410 hp/torque for cheap. That 35i looks like a good bet and throw a few mobs on and good to go.

Watch out on those 296 wheels they are well known for cracking, i would inspect those closely. lastly if possible I would wait out and see if you can find one with M-sport package, as it just looks 100x better than one without it.

That's not an M Sport? Oh... well it has M seats...and adaptive settings.

What is a Cobb Tune?

Looks like a bargain to me. Had to double take as it looks almost identical to my car (before my many modifications). No worry not being an M sport, its only missing the bumpers and that metal dash which I don't like anyhow. The M Sport bumpers make a world of difference on light coloured cars, but TBH you really don't notice the difference on black cars IMHO.

What about the power and feel of it?

306 vs 340 in the new one
And 320 in the new 135

Its not a 'new one' at 340ps. Its the 35iS.

35i=306, 35iS=335bhp (so 30hp more in the iS for a rather large premium over a 35i).

You can tell the difference so its up to you in the end. The 35i is more than quick enough. The iS does 0-6 just .3 seconds quicker. How much is .3 seconds worth to you?

Garage List
2011 BMW Z4 35i  [10.00]
.3 seconds is worth about 600 dollars for Cobb Accessport. The stage 1 tune matches the factory "is" tune pretty well, and you can get that for cheap. like VailM3 said. about 350ish at the crank.

get the 35i. it's fantastic. if you don't like the non M bumper then order a M bumper after, it's about $1000 with painting.

Ok so what if I offer 16k on the car? Winter and all? Needs a service I called BMW.. ???

I just love the popping noise and that enormous deep engine sound... OH MY GOD

And what about torque... does the 335/340 HP mean more torque and side ways cornering laughs?

PS MANIAC - the advert says 35is.....so this is the biggest one with DCT....

I love the new new new twin colour ones, different colour roofs but that is easily doable.

I am assuming you are all in agreement that any other engine will NOT cut it...

I went to Munich to do BMW on demand and hired a 1k worth of cars per hour....

M550D
M6

M135
640D
MX650

The advert does not say 35iS, it says 35i (sDrive) the 306 bhp one. Welcome to confusing BMW nomenclature. A 35iS would state '35iS sDrive' and as standard the 35iS is 335bhp and has the M Sport bodykit among other bits.

You won't be disappointed in the 35i. Buy that, keep some cash in the bank, after spending a teeny bit on a remap that will blow a stock 35iS away.

yes definitely, 35is or 35i cobb stage 1 is more torque and more "sideways"

By the way the sticker on the side of the car in the photo says "35i" not "35is" (sDrive is generic BMW speak for a RWD car)

As to whether or not other engines will "cut it" (other then chipped 35i or 35is), I think that's up to you to determine.

For what it is worth, I tend to agree with you given the relatively high weight of the car
