Issues? Not sure why you'd think there would be, you select an appropriate gear, there's no rule book that you have to go from one gear to the next in line.

Back in the day, my dad had a corvette zr1 and it actually had a block that would bump the stick over to fourth when shifting from first under certain conditions. Mostly at slow acceleration to save gas if I remember correctly.
