The inner headlight of our car is not functional it does not even have a bulb:
It looks like we only have 3 bulbs in the headlight housing: The Signal light PY24W The Main headlight D1S Xenon which is used for both low and high beam The Angel eyes light H8. Basically the inner ones are just for esthetic at least in the US where there is only a Xenon HID version. |

The Z4 35i production code is LM72 in Europe and LM 73 in US.
The Z4 35is production code is LM11 in Europe, LM 12 in Australia and LM13 in US. You might have seen these numbers on your order form/contract. Haha how boring! |

A friend has a stunning white e46 M3 with exactly the same problem with excessive camber. In his case I think his springs may need replacement.
I think one of the pitfalls of the rear independent suspension, regardless of make/model is even though it's superior from a performance point of view, as you add more weight to the car, it squats. This increases negative camber. If you already have a significant amount of negative camber it gets somewhat worse. One typical cure to extend tire life is rotation, but in most cases, the staggered front/rear wheel/tire sizes doesn’t permit rotation. The last possibility it to take it to a independent alignment shop to see if it’s possible dial out some of the negative camber. The effect of significant negative camber is that advanced tire wear results to the inside edge.

Anyone try driving off while putting the hardtop back on? A friend told me he managed to do it at a very slow start, less than 15km/hr. Move off and hit the hardtop button on the dashboard to get the top up.

That's what I was thinking too, I'll need new rears soon anyway so I'll check with my tire guys to see what's up ..

Rolf, you're asking what is off topic....your post just prior to mine! Might be just me, but don't see anything here that relates to "tell me something I don't know about my Z4".....
Dave Drive in the Mohave Desert and Hyway 1 from LA north to Origain and you will too have rear wheel cracks I guarantee it. oh yes and the sharp on and off ramps to the US express ways ... unless you take it real gentle and hold everyone behind you up. Just keep an eye on the rear rims, slightest sign of a crack you know where to bring your toy Did I tell you they wanted to have me call Road Assistance for them to tow me to the nearest Canadian BMW dealership ... that would have been Calgary I guess or even Lethbridge, Alberta the nerve I opted for option two get a new wheel mount it and let me drive home.

I've seen others post similar messages of being off topic....so guess it's just me and doesn't apply to anyone else I guess.

Devils advocate here... I was interested in knowing more because I have 19's on my car, I'm going on a 6000km trip in a week and didn't know until now about the issues with 19's cracking ...so technically rolf was on topic
But I wouldn't care anyway 'coz everything is a learning moment...

You see I was raised in Europe (mind you a long time ago), still when I am asked a question I try to respond as best as I can As you well know mcbeee asked a question or was it a remark, still I replied to it. Then again when you think about it ... is a CRACK in your wheel not something you should be aware of? So can we agree to disagree that it might well fit in here anyway? Are you not glad to have read about the possibility of cracked wheels? and will you not check your wheels now that you know about it? I am sure we both agree that it is something that not everyone knew.
