Windshield Outside Pillar

Hey Guys,

Has anyone ever tried to or contemplated on painting the outside windshield pillar like the body (like the e85/e86)? I could have sworn the first official pics I saw of the Zed e89 had the paint on it. Don't get me wrong I like the way it is, I am just curious how it would look. I guess this is coming from us being so obsessed in past of matching everything to the body paint, side mirrors , moulding etc. These days all we want to do is blackout stuff

Hmmm. I used to be worried about this., I even thought I shoudl buy a Sapphire black Z4 (and nearly did) to ensure they matched.
Then I saw my DSB and I have never given it another thought.

Unfortunately, the black sapphire doesn't match the pillar either. The pillar is actually a glossy black and once you notice it it stands out. I've never understood why it's a different color than the body of the car.

Thats a good question. But many cars seem to have black trim and mirror supports as well as window frames regardless of sheet metal color. I can say though that it does match well with my jet black exterior paint on my 35i.

Does anyone have scratches on theirs?

I got a big scratch some how right on the top of mine, so everyday when i get in and out of the car its in my face.

So only the Jet Black car gets the full treatment with matching mirrors and windshield pillar - nice....

Aight Stoof we all nominate you be the first guy to match the pillars to the body, and the scratches will be gone as well

Or go the D Type Jag solution, remove the roof and font windshield and install small glass wind deflectors.

mine are scratched up as well. going to try to buff it out this spring.
