Upgrading to LCI steering wheel with left right paddle shifters

Hi

Was wondering if anyone could help me.

I'm currently have a z4 35i with the push pull paddle shifters. I want to buy the newer wheel with the left right shifters partly because I prefer the feel of the wheel but also because I prefer the left right paddle shifters.

Could anyone advise me if this is a straight swap or is it a complicated rewire.

Thank you

I cant answer the question you have but let me say this.

1. It likely will require recoding
2. As for me, since the paddles are attached to a turning steering wheel it can be confusing which paddle is which during a hard turn where you hand leave their original position. I have found myself downshifting when i should have upshifted in my 1er that has this configuration.

My Z is simple push to downshift pull to upshift. The ole brain doesnt get that confused as much. If the paddles were stationary like a Lambo then i would say go for it but just make sure you think about his before you do it.

You don't need a new wheel, you can buy and replace the paddles without the need for coding
