Shudder on start-up
I've been experiencing, for some time, a slight shudder at start-up (almost like a single shudder, where it feels like for 1 moment car is about to turn off if I give it some gas) that disappears right away. It's intermittent and occurs only on start-up (and not only cold start-ups), but nothing else. No long cranks or any other effects. And I have frankly forgotten if that's how the car reacted on startup when I first bought it, hence why I am asking if this is normal.
Any suggestions ? |

I don't recall from your other posts...
You have the 35i? What is your mileage and have you cleaned the intake valves? |

Many would say 30-40k is about right.
I did my 2011 at about 48 k miles. While the valves were pretty bad, I had no symptoms so it was just preventive maintenance. My 2008 535 had a very rough idle as you describe. I did the valve cleaning and they were very bad. Afterwards, my idle and smoothness came back to feeling great. But... This was the first cleaning at 120k miles. Hard to say of course. Just keep it in mind if you find no other cause. |
