yea....my company charges average $300/h for consulting (depending on the level). But I don't understand why you charge $83/h because isn't it internal IT department? or are you a contractor?

I am a contractor, yes. I am a one man shop. So...even though my rate is cheaper...100% of it goes into my pocket...

Not really...I am paid 1099...not W2

I'm incorported and take a lot of expenses out of that...The Bimmer lease and parking to name 2. Also, My apartment is in a partial commercial building, so i get a nice deduction there...

Added up...I'd say Uncle sam walks away with 20 percent of that. At 50+ hours a week, it's not bad.

Hmm.. my dad is a consultant for the Rockefeller Companies, as a developer and gets $110/hour. Are you sure about these figures cause those are really high... especially with all the outsourcing going on now-a-days.

yea i can say that most IT consulting is around that price or higher. I work at the #2 IT consulting company and most of our client need our expertise and are Fortune 500. It's cheap change to them...

I think I'm the only person that will say this, but I LOVE my boss. No problems answering to her, although I wouldn't mind a 1099 @ 200k... that would be sweet.
