35is Dyno'd

Guys & Gals,

Had the Z4 dyno'd this morning with the local guys from the 1Addicts forum.
2 Z's turned up.
A 35i and a 35is. I didn't hang around for the 35i but...

Below is the Dyno chart from the 35is - making 215kW at the wheels. (Multiply by 1.32 to get flywheel)
In comparison, at the wheels a 1M made 219kW and a stock 135i made 187kW.

Dont try to convert the N to Nm. Its just there for show.

Multiply by 1.36.

Which hp?
I have quoted you metric hp.

215.5 kW comes out to 293 Hp at the wheels, or about 380 Hp at the crank.

I disagree with that last statement. Most manual (or DCT) drivetrain losses I've heard are in the 15% range, that's 345 at the crank.

But a good showing none the less.

Good show!! I wonder whats making the 1M run that little bit stronger? Manual trans with less loss?

PS: Seems like BMW underrated the Z4 35is slightly.

Actually, I don't speculate. The multipliers were the claims of the dyne operator.

But, if it was only 15% I'd feel ripped off because then I'd be getting less than the 250kW claimed by BMW.

At the end of the day it is what it is.

drop a Jb4 in there

my z4 35i baseline (IIRC) at 287wtq, and around 286whp
then with Jb4 Alpha (first DCT N54 to get tuned and dynoed with a Jb4, maps have improved now) I got 351wtq (IIRC) and 349 whp. it's been almost a year, so do forgive me if I'm not exactly right, but I won't be off by more than 3-5 whp/wtq

I for my 0-60, but I think it was 4.2? 4.3? I only did it twice so I don't remember.
