mstevens, we are not raising the headlights any higher than OEM, it is just dangerous for us to drive them the way they are because they are so far below OEM you can only see one car length in front of you and would be more dangerous for anything/anyone unlit farther than that in front of you.

Both Kief and Oh Captain My Captain seem to be unhappy with them when they are in "OEM" position.

No. For snow depths up to 4-6 inches it wouldn't matter since the bodywork clears snow at that height. Over 6 inches of snow and my Z4 is definitely a no-go.

Does anyone have a video of what the startup light movement should look like? On my Lexus RX with adaptive headlights, the beam really makes big sweeping movement on the wall, on my Z4 the beam moves down about 1-2 inches and back up.

Around 12 sec mark of the 1:25 video you get a glimpse of the small up/down movement. At the 45-46 second mark you get a better idea. The amount of the movement is probably greater if you have changed the load inside the car since last turning off the engine/lights, i.e. an additional passenger and/or a trunk full of groceries, etc. Hope this helps. http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...iaGallery.aspx http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...3-8952983371f1
