E-bay downpipe review
EDIT - yea, it's a chargepipe review - got typing too fast and well, is what it is now since I can't edit the title (mods??)
So lets start here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331880366495...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Unit does not come with the sticker on it - just painted black. No meth ports. Welds are rather good, but pipes stuck out just a bit inside the tube, so I hit it with a dremel and smoothed everything out. Installation instructions are all over the internet if you need them - but had some issues when installing, as the supplied flex tubing is not long enough. Had to purchase the blue piece from amazon ($36) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 IMG_20160705_172845 by Mikey L, on Flickr You can see the difference (3" to be precise) Put that on (2 days shipping - Amazon prime to the rescue) and started the install again. This time everything fit - kind of. The front BOV now rests on top of the AC line and the vacuum hoses are stretched to their limits. So - $175 for the part - $36 for the hose, $1 in vacuum line, still the cheapest solution out there using the stock BOVs..... Last edited by Lurcher; 07-08-2016 at 10:14 AM.. |

it looks like a downpipe, like any other downpipe, but it's metal and now has a big blue hose at the end.
What specifically are you looking for in a picture? It's a necessary evil - a part you need to replace that should have never been made in plastic if you are running higher boost. I'd be happier if they would refund me the $36 for the hose I didn't know I was going to have to buy, or if customer service had a clue about this issue. This is still the cheapest solution for a black unit - as most are chrome and black runs +$25. Without a meth port though, there is no upgrade path other than replacement Last edited by Lurcher; 07-10-2016 at 12:08 PM.. |
