Have my v1 mounted between rear view mirror and visor on driver's side. Run cord over mirror support and down to receptacle under glove box, unit gets good fore and aft view from this spot.

take of the interior lighting console by the homelike mirror

splice into the Green with WHITE stripe wire.

Find a ground.

The V1 hardwire kit is pretty much PnP from there.

Take off the screw for the Visor in order to have room to slip the telephone cable through (power source for the V1)

Put the lighting console back

And you're done

you should check if everything works before putting things back though

There is a post where someone did just that. Do a search and you'll see it pictures and all. Myself, just tapped into the 12v receptacle under the passenger foot well and ran the wire up the steering column. Looks fine and wasn't a hard job, I didn't want to mess with the headliner.

If you do not want to mess up with any OEM wire, and set all as if one day you are returning the car to the dealer and no trace of any wire cuts. Here is what you need to do:
1. Find the fuse box in your car. You may already know where it is; but if you don't, it is in the glove box.
2. look for an "open" fuse slot. This is a fuse slot that is powered, but is not connected to any of the car's electronic or electrical components. If you're not sure which slots are available, consult the owner's manual-- The amp you should be looking for is 5 amp (A).
3. You need a fuse tap. The fuse tap, as the name suggests, taps into the car's electrical system by taking the place of a fuse in the fuse box. You'll connect the power wire of any electronic or electrical device you're connecting to the fuse tap's connector. In most cases, the fuse tap employs a simple slide connector.
4. Strip 1/2 inch of insulation from the wire you'll be connecting to the fuse tap with a pair of wire strippers and slide the appropriate wire connector onto the wire. Crimp the connector in place with a crimp tool.
5. Insert the fuse tap, with the wire connected, into the fuse slot of the fuse box, metal-bladed side first.
6. Take the negative from the chassis itself, you should be able to locate a Torx screw holding a side of the glove box plastic into the metal chassis...

Pretty easy and straight forward...

Good luck!
