new Z4 pictures from dealer !

some shots from dealer, the car was "hidden" in the parking, waiting for official unveiling / launch..

Sorry for quality , rather poor, did not have proper camera, and light was appalling

anyway, first impression is that car really looks like in pictures, and finally quite close to , as for style, the current model.
However, much room in the cabin, and seats very low, so "giants" will feel at ease in this car, also given all the seat controls available with sport car. seats seemed also quite confortable.
Dont know if the car came with some audio package, but sound quite poor as rear speakers are behind seats. So dont expect "surround" type of sound in the cabin, would say normal for a 2 seats car. (so perhps not worth investing into premium audio package).

cabin atmosphere is "woo" factor. HOWEVER, rather disappointed by quality and plastics. (even outside, look at adjustment of structure !)

The car came with the "white" extended leather. leather on dashboard and top doors looks very cheap. Doesnt really feel like premium car (particulary compared to the same option in porsche boxster). Some commands are also not "soft", eg air conditioning. Finally, plastic of bottom of doors is very but very cheap, even cheaper than in series 1 model ! so, it is obvious that bmw went for big savings in cockpit quality, lets hope it is at least well screwed together.
I wonder how dashboard and top doors look like without the leather extended option.

Anyway, otherwise, nice car and may order 1 for May

hmmm... there are the cup holders. where's the insert point for that attachable cupholder like the 6 series as seen on the other 2010 Z4?

edit........

cupholders with storage container is an option, I noticed.

Thanks for the pictures.

It's interesting the variety of opinion people have. I, for one, love the "non-soft" command like the AC dials. I think the designers' goal was simplicity and a blend of artsy-ness hence the analog digital dial. The tuned down the digitalization we have in cars. I like the no-nonsense and clean interior. Feel kind of like a yacht.

actually, the quality stands behind a series 3. but again, this might be due to extended leather option, so need to see without this option. Also, roadster customers usually attach less importance to soft-commands / plastics than in a more traditionnal car such as series 3. marketing guys know that. more important i think is how cabin is put together, especially in a roadster.
and car is indeed georgous (inside / outside)

as for audio, sales guy did not know. they get very little information on car, and car was not even officially presented. given the high level of equipement of the car, would suspsect that it was embarking top audio system. my experience is that premium audio are not optimised to the full in roadster as there is no room for rear speakers and cabin very cramped.

must say tempted to trade my car and order one z23 for may.
but risk of having glitches in 1st production year. Also, wonder what engine offer will be after launch. seems that bmw is working on downzised engines (as audi did with TT), and might shadow for ex the 323i one year only after launch (resale value ?).

I think a smaller engine, possible turbocharged (either petrol or diesel) will be available at some point in the future.

I had the old Z4 2.2i (6 cylinder) - the 2.2i was only available in the UK for a short time before it was replaced by a 2.0i 4 cylinder. Resale values weren't affected in a noticeably negative way at trade-in time. At the end of the day it depends if you want 4 or 6 cylinders.

I think a quick trip to Geneva early March might be called for.

Interior size

Picture number 8 is scary for me, way too big for a roadster interior.
