All the comments are personal opinion taken with a grain of salt.
At least there are 2 positive comments.
The key for the large peices like the deck lid was to clean very good with isopropyl alcohol many many times.
I laid out the sheet and trimmed it to reasonable excess size.
Starting in the middle I cut the backing paper off to about 2 feet wide and adhered this section first so as to be able to stretch the CF material for a smooth wrinkle free application top to bottom and side to side.
I then pulled the rest of the backing paper off one side at a time and worked for the middle outward.
Around the edges and wrapping on the under side was labor intensive because of the many plastic tabs etc. I cut The CF to fit as perfect around the under side as possible to acheive a flat smooth wrap.
It took me close to 4 hours.

Allow me to apologize for my ironic response and I must admit that you perceive the criticism here like a true zen, I am genuinely amazed by your manners.

Well, you said it, some people might not like your touches but I 'm sure no one would question your skills and this is more important in my book.

Hey Land_shark,

Just wanted to say love the job you've done! I stumbled across this thread while looking for a piano black interior for my z, and after seeing how awesome yours looked, I thought to give it a shot myself! Now I have never done any interior mods before so was a little apprehensive, however, I got hold of some 3m Gloss Black vinly wrap and got going!

Pics to follow...

Still have the door handles to do, and panel where the headlight switch is, but am propped happy with it! Can't believe how easy wrapping is - can get quite addictive though!!

bmwz4rider, you are a champ!, dont worry too much about what some of these pompus arses say. Its your car, you go for it. good on ya mate. by the way, ive tried my hand at some of this carbon look cover stuff, and its a bloody lot harder than it looks. So yeah good on ya, at least your willing to give it a go, and your individualizing your car, so yeah its a plus plus. oh and for what its worth, i do love your front bumper.

OP, love yours too, Mr pap, the piano black looks sweet.

Thanx for the positive feedback.
I love some of the wrap jobs I did and have reversed some others.- That's the best part. I can change my own taste and design
I reversed the inside of the door jam, removed inside the door hold/handles, the air cleaner and the sides of the dash.
Kept the front grills.
Would have loved to keep the rear deck lid BUT the wind got ahold of a corner of the wrap and lifted it off (at 85-90MPH) go figure.
Personal taste and choice on cars- Everybody has one.

what brand of CF wrap did you guys use? There are so many suppliers out there, I'd prefer to use a high quality wrap given the amount of time that will be invested in this project.

Also, is there a DIY thread for trim removal? The info in this thread is useful, but a nice step by step DIY would be extremely helpful.

Many thanks.

So how easy is it to remove the door panels and especially the partition behind the seats, to get to the various speakers? Is it a pain to access the amp in the trunk?

That looks amazing. How did you get the silver trim by the ac controls out. I have the metal CF trim but it seems like it is welded or something to the plastic

Hello guys. I want to plastidip my trims in two colors. Today I managed to remove the main dash trim, but the two pieces of this trim are permanently connected. It looks like rivet? Did you separate it somehow and then glued?

Here are the pics:
