In "Instrument Cluster" toggle on Expert mode and search for EDC. This does not work in demo-mode.

I've decided to just live with the shock light coming on for 30 secs on start up. I know what it is, so I''ll learn to ignore it.

[QUOTE=KennyP;30155420] Because there are no aftermarket adaptive shocks... You can only buy them from Bmw or some online shops that sell oem stuff...”

Bilstein makes a B6 edc setup. I have a ‘20 F22 230i; removed original edc struts/shocks and installed this set of Bilstein B6 (DampTronic) Heavy Duty shocks for F22, F30, etc.

So what did you do about the EDC ECU since it’s different / better on the F series?

Nagengast in Poland refurbishs adaptive shocks for an interesting price.

I looked at this with my leaking shocks but they only seem to do front units..went with Ohlins instead..

Interesting. But have you been in contact with them or was it just a guess based on their pictures?

If I’m understanding you correctly, the damptronics are wired and plug in, the same as stock bmw adaptives. And they are a major improvement.

What I’m not understanding is that the E89 adaptive shocks are controlled by an off board ECU…the F series shocks look to be quite significantly different design wise..with a different ECU..

So how do you get the F type series shock speak to an E series ECU or..if you used a F series ECU how did you get it to talk to the rest of the car’s systems ?

i noticed maybe half a year ago that Bilstein offers electronic dampers now.
To be specific i noticed that they offer Porsche PASM damper replacements now.
And you would think that Porsche PASM dampers cost more than BMW adaptive ones. But for example Bilstein PASM damper set for a 981 cayman S is cheaper than oem adaptive damper set from BMW for the e89. Especially the fronts were significally cheaper.

Also i did look if they offered replacement adaptive dampers for the e89 and no they do not.
I think its quite a new product line for Bilstein.

This article about PASM replacement dampers by Bilstein is for example from march 2022.
https://workshop.bilstein.com/en/bil...sm-suspension/

So maybe its a new product category that they slowly expand to more models over time. If so then maybe someday they will release something for E89 aswell. One could hope. But im sure e89 would not be high up in their list to develop dampers for.

The Damptronics were not installed on an E89. “I have a ‘20 F22 230i; removed original edc struts/shocks and installed this set of Bilstein B6 (DampTronic) Heavy Duty shocks for F22, F30, etc.”
These fit vehicles in the attached image.
As mentioned in his post above, this is a new Bilstein product line. These may (hopefully) be expanded to include more BMW models with edc. Contacting Bilstein may give an idea of what’s planned.
