Who is running rear camber arms?

I'm curious who here is running rear camber arms with a spherical inner bearing? If you are would you share which product you're running and your opinion of it.

Thanks,

Filippo

Filippo,

I have read inner rubber bushing on control arm is very thin walled and therefore there is very little deformation under load. That's why I left mine alone. I changed lower Hub bushing control attaches to with an M3 bearing.

Thanks ... BMW actually had a GruppeN bushing to replace this, which is now NLA. I did go ahead today and ordered inner spherical bearings for the control arm (Rogue) and the rear caster arms from AKG which also have spherical bearings.

BTW I know you've fooled with these cars a fair bit. Do you know anyone who is running E90 M3 front spindle assemblies? It's a wider strut tube (that I know). It seems like the wheel hub and bearing assembly is different. Wondering if the spindle "geometry" is the same...

Fillipo,

I don't know about the spindle. What I did do is change back spacing on my front wheel to 35mm to minimize the 9mm kingpin offset on the stock suspension. New wheels have 3mm offset. Makes car much more stable under hard braking.

Thanks. I just finished a conversation with Barry Battle. He's working with Ohlins and will likely machine the front strut tubes (where they slide into the carrier) so spacers can be used to set height adjustment.

One other quick thing, just so I understand. On the backspacing, you ran a spacer on the wheel to address scrub?

No wheel spacers. I bought wheels with 35mm offset. I'm running 235's now on front but I'm going to 245's. I measured and they will fit. I run 18" wheels for lighter weight and rotary inertia. Note I run at stock springs to keep wheels in contact with track. Koni FSD shocks and H and R bar keep it flat in corners.
