I am interested in this piece news from the point of view that I hope BMW introduce this to a road-going factory Z4! IE a Z4 M!

A competitive convertible in GT3? I don't get it.
the convertable mechanism will of course be removed... just like the Formula 1 MB SL pace car.

half a mill for a bmw, is something I would never do.
max I would pay for the M3 GTR is 200K.
Half a mill I would definately get a Ferrari F430.

If you're comparing stock versions of the two cars, it might be true, but it's not a apples to apples comparison.

Yours is a street car with a tune kit vs a factory setup race car that will be much lighter and will have a 400+ bhp v8 engine.

A fully designed, prepped, and ready race car for 500k? Sounds great to me. If you tried to do this on your own it would be that or a bit less. To have it designed and backed by the OEM is incredible.

Too bad because it's a nice car. My guess is it says more about the economy than a Ferrari's or a $430k BMW factory setup racing Z4.

Too bad it's not street legal, I would love to drive a car like that on the street.

That F430 Challenge won't sell at all. It's too much of an expensive track toy. Either you got money pouring out of your ass, or your an oil king arab.
