Back home in scotland would drive with the roof down in low temperaures, the cold air can be very nice and refreshing; but when the snow starts to fall in then it can be a problem, set a rule that if the outside temp was 10 degrees C or higher and not raining then the roof was down. Now Im in Qatar and the Z4 roof is down if the temperature is below 45 degrees C, if its hotter then the roof is up for sure and the AC is on. Looking forward to winter and more roof down time during the day, for now its a night time activity.
One thing the SLK does have that appeals is the 'air scarf' headrest vents to blow hot or cold on your neck - not tried this but like the idea, for comfort and pleasure |

I totally agree. While I have always loved my mother in-laws Z3 I just couldn't see myself in a daily driver convertible with a ragtop. It rains 8 months out of the year here or so it seems, so any convertible had to have a hardtop and not feel completely claustrophobic when the top is up. The E89 fits that bill nicely.

Sounds like my mother in-law when she got her Z3. She would drive with the top down in 35 degree weather with the heated seats on and the hot air blasting. Now that's convertible conviction.

Not quite the same. Only a good ride on a straight road and needing room for 6.

This is also my 3rd convertible.
Although everyone in Hong Kong said it is mad to drive convertible with top down in such heavily polluted city, but I still enjoy the freedom when my top down. Of course need to be very cautious about the falling objects, sputum, bird stool.. from the apartment above.
