Best New car deal for Sept 2011 Z4
Z4 makes the news on Yahoo.
http://autos.yahoo.com/news/top-10-n...september.html 2011 BMW Z4 Deal: $4,500 additional dealer discount and 0.9 percent financing to 36 months, 1.9 to 60 months, 2.9 to 72 months. This quick and nimble little two-seat roadster is essentially a grown-up’s toy, with svelte styling, a choice of three inline-six-cylinder engines, playful rear-drive handling and virtually zero practicality. Even though it comes with a retractable hardtop, those living in northern states will want to store it for the winter. http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...regiontypeid=3 0.9% Annual Percentage Rate Offer. $4,500 Credit available. |

It also looks like the lease offer is now 36mos instead of 24.

Almost every car is overpriced. It's basically up to the buyer to negotiate the best deal they can, or wait for an incentive to come along if they are not a strong negotiator. God helps those that help themselves. The only cars not overpriced are the ones no one wants to buy in the first place.

2012 MY prices aren't as high as you might think at first glance. I priced out my 2011 with the same options and it came out to cost less for 2012! This is due to including some options as standard equipment and reducing the cost of other options, like DCT. It went from 1575 to 450.

The price of the DCT actually went down to $450 about mid year in MY2011. I looked at quite a few '11's before I bought my 35is that had the new pricing. The base price also went up mid year also though.

i went to the dealer last weekend to ask about leasing, she told there's nothing in inventory and i am going to have to order a 2012. She gave me the breakdown of the pricing and monthly payments on her computer and it changes ever so slightly with different packages and options. Can i negotiate that?

I think this dealer has a white/beige 2011 3.0 in stock - I considered it. I think he said the dealers wife has been driving it. It has the Premium package and premium stereo. I ended up with the same color combo and we love it. The car I got had a few more options - cold weather and sport.

If you plan to lease, you still need to negotiate the CAP Cost (Purchase Price) of the car. Don't negotiate based on monthly payment!!!!!!!!!! Find out what the money factor (interest rate) is on the lease, the mileage, and the residual value and any lease fees (initial fee, disposal fee, etc). These items are not negotiable, but you will want to know all this to determine if it is a good lease program and compare it to financing to see which is the better option for you. You will be able to select the lease term (24,30,36,48 months) Last edited by BlueZ4AZ; 09-27-2011 at 02:16 PM.. |

The MF is indeed negotiable. Dealers regularly mark it up so that it adds $40-50 more to the monthly payment. There are very few 2011 Z4s in the lower 48. My car stickered at $57k lightly optioned Z35. My payment is $500 per month.

I would think the MF would be similiar as with the interest rate on regular financing, meaning as long as you have an A credit score and/or qualify, you will get their best MF, which is the one they calculated with to quote the mo pmt on the lease specials we see on the Mfg web sites. The lease programs all state "OAC", meaning they've already quoted the mo. pmt based on the best MF they can offer on the lease, and it will be higher if you don't have A credit or qualify. I could be wrong.

very very VERY rarely does someone know what the best MF is on the car the dealer uses this number to make you pay more, and thus increase their profits. You need to know what the best MF is to confirm you do indeed get it

In the case with a special publicized lease program direct from the Mfg, it must be the Mfg, (not the dealer) that is setting the MF, no? You see the same exact terms on every dealer's web site, because the info came direct from the Mfg. Although they rarely quote the MF, they must all be using the same MF set by the Mfg, since all the other terms such as mo pmt, cap reduction, term, and residual value are all the same.

not sure where you are going with this. Cap cost is a only small portion of the lease equation. There is a buy rate that dealers mark up. The mark up is negotiable and so is the cap cost. Why wouldn't you negotiate based on monthly payment because a lease is all about cash flow and based on the change or those 2 variables.
