E89 Returns to VLN in force
At yesterdays technical inspection and test drive for the VLN Race Series Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring (Association of Nürburgring Endurance Cup Organisers) the BMW E89's were out in force. Nice to see them back.Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring (Association of Nürburgring Endurance Cup Organisers)

At the start of the 5th hour, the #19 BMW Z4 GT3 is still in the lead, with a 51 second lead over the #2 Audi R8 LMS.
For those of you who want to listen, Radio LeMans is broadcasting the race in English at http://radiolemans.0157.org/nplayer.php Or you can watch it on the VLN channel at http://www.vln.de/tv/ Sabine, who qualified in 22nd (out of a starting field of 200), rose up to 11th, before falling back to 15th following a pit stop and driver change, but is still within 2 minutes of the lead. Seriously mixed loyalties between our beloved Z4, the Frikadelli Race Team and Dieter's "Z-Racing" Team... |

The 2 Audi R8 LMS's took 1st and 2nd, the SLS AMG GT3 took 3rd, followed by a BMW Z4 GT3 and then another Audi in 5th, Sabine finished 6th (with an excellent last session push by Klaus after a blown tire, an impressive result after starting 22nd) with the 3 BMW Z4 GT3's coming in 7th, 8th and 9th and them SLS GT3 (co-driven by Mark Bullitt out of Miami) closes out the top 10. Out of 169 starters, 111 were classified at the end of 24 hours. Last place was captured by the Callaway C6 Corvette.
