Is there anything in particular I should look for when test driving tomorrow? Any known faults?

No known fault.

Make sure the roof opens and closes smoothly. Check for past water leaks in the trunk (very unlikely).

Being a roadster, you'll be sitting much further back and lower than you may be used to. That means the rear end will feel very lively (especially if you're coming from a SAAB!), while the front end (steering) will feel less so. But that doesn't mean there anything wrong with the car, it's just the driving position. You'll get used to it. Make sure to try it in Sport and Sport+ modes!

I believe it's a manual gearbox? If so the gearbox takes a few miles/km to warm up. Then the shifts become much easier and smoother.

Otherwise it's just like any other car, check the maintenance records.

Thanks. Will try the roof. Too bad the weather is really cold today. April is a weird month. We got -6 celsius this morning

Weather got a lot better during the day

What a great ride. Roof folded nicely, no strange sounds or the like. Folded the roof four times. I have only two gripes, first, a soft, plastic/rubber "creaking" just behind my head. Maybe this could be fixed? I don't think the car has been driven for a few months. The plastic or rubber parts may be a bit dry? Second issue was the airbag indicator on the dashboard, which was lit all the time?

Otherwise, man what a car Lots of heads were turned

Ask your dealer to throw in this and apply it to the rubber seals of the roof. Prepare to do it on a regular basis.

Dash indicator can easily be fixed, I'm sure. And if a service tech rides with you to hear the creaking sound, he'll likely be able to address that as well. Neither should be a deal breaker.

I asked the dealer about the indicator. He said that the airbag can be disabled with the key and that way the indicator will be off? That doesn't sound right? I dont want to disable the thing.

Ask him to demonstrate that. We don't have that feature in the U.S.

But is the dash indicator supposed to be lit all the time when the airbag is enabled?

No, you can disable the passenger airbag with the key on the right side of the dashpanel (open the right door and you'll see the keyhole on the dash) The warningsignal for disabled airbag is located on the readinglight panel by the rear mirror.

Dashindicator shows a fault! Probably an easy fix.

Now go sign the paper and enjoy!

Thanks for the input. I asked the dealer to check these things:

1. Creaking plastic/rubber behind the seating position
2. Missing 2cm rounded plastic item on driver door
3. Airbag indicator is lit all the time

If he matches the price I want with the exchange car, we have a deal next week

By the way, does anyone know where I can find the owners manual for the 2011 Z4 (EU)?

Had a thought today I didn't think of before. How is the view when reversing the Z4? I have no PDC installed on this car.
