Powerball Jackpot $900 Million USD
Anyone bought tickets for tonight's drawing for the largest jackpot in the USA? I know a few Canadians driving across the border to come buy some tickets.
What are you going to do if you win the lump sum after tax amount of 558 million? |

Yep. Wife said she was cool if I got a GT3 if we won :-). I won't be surprised if it continues to grow. They changed the odds and the odds are over 50% worse than the last time anyone won.

You have a better chance of being hit by an asteroid. And that was when it was $700m.
Still, someone will win it eventually. It'd be fascinating to follow them for a few years and see how they spend it and how it affects those around them. Doesn't always turn out good.

Form a group of advisors (CPA, Attorney specializing in trusts, Financial Advisor), claim the winnings in a Trust.
Begin to purchase R/E assets that are leased to national credit tenants under long term lease (think Lowes, Wal-Mart, Publix, etc).... Invest considerable amounts in tax exempt bonds structured with staggered maturities that throw off tax free income for future years. Pay off all current debt. Buy large tracts of rural land. Disappear after collecting the winnings......... |

I play powerball when everyone doesn't jump on the bandwagon, that way the odds aren't 100000000000000000000000000000000:1, and you can still end up...., a millionaire.
If I did win, 911 GT3 RS, F50, house with an attached and nice sized lot for detached garage, throw a hoist in, and call it a day. Fuck getting extravagant, it's all about being on the right level. |

Odds are based on how many combinations can be made out of the numbers in the game. Has nothing to do with how many play. They increased the amount of numbers by 10 in the first five numbers and decrease the powerball number by I believe 7. This made the odds go from like 1in175million to like 1 in 280million. That's why it's gotten so big. Nobody has won the jackpot since the change.
