Why are Lamborghini's so rare

He there,

I was wondering why some of us don't drive 2012/2013 Lamborghini Gallardo's?

Seriously... I've been yesterday at Lamborghini's and they offered me an 2012 with 15k mile's for 102k cash.
36 month
Leasing without downpayment around 2.3 k a month.
So with an healthy downpayment you can lover it easy under 1.8k.

It's definately manageble, so why do some of us consider an 430 HP M4 over an 2012/2013 Lamborghini Gallardo?
MPG should be almost the same as from an M3 E92 , insurance not THAT much higher.
What's your thought's???

Did you mean rare? I would assume if you could get an Aventador for around $30k, they wouldn't be quite so rare. Price point might have something to do with it. ;D

He you. It's an exotic. That's all.

I know you can find a 360 Modena for pretty cheap these days if you wanna ride in style.

Edit: You added more. Some people don't want to pay the premium for insurance, on top of added maintenance if you like to drive the car, a Gallardo oil change or brakes and tires are going to cost hella more, plus most Lambos are weekend cars, not many people buy them to daily.

Hey Axius,
yeah but you know...
360 these day's is the wannabe ferrari for people that won't a real one but can't afford it.
That's at least the way people judge , when they spot you in such an ferrari.

To me 102k is still a lot of money (although for a 2012 it's very cheap compared to prices in europe)

Do you know how fast a gallardo eats through a clutch and what a replacement costs?
It's not only the buying but also the maintenance

I'm speaking in terms of drivablity. I would have no problem driving a 360 Modena around as my daily during the summer, because it's not a maintenance monster like the rest, and it still has some curb appeal. You get bang for your buck, without breaking the bank.

If you go into Gallardo territory and such, you're going to be spending more. However, if you have more, then I absolutely would, I'm only speaking on personal preference.

Cheap Ferrari or not, I'm sure it would not be a terrible car to drive around on the regular and rack up the miles. People can say what they want, but it is a real Ferrari..., it's not made by Ford or BMW for that matter. So I'll never understand that logic.

Well to be honest, before I bought my M3 E92 I heard nothing but claimed horror storie's how expensive our car's are...
All what people told me on the net about the ownership of an M3 E92 was way over the top calculated, so I decided to get one and test it.
Now owning my M3 E92 for a decent period of time and operating the car as an daily, I can definately say...it's a cheap car. Nothing crazy, even with the regular maintanance it's ok!
You understand me? Who know's if it's true, that gallardo's eat up the clutch under 10k mile's? Maybe worth a try to find it out on my own?

360's do got their weak point's, wich bite the people's asses, that decide to be the 4th owner.
You get them cheap, yes...but you get what you pay on these 360's.
If, then an F 430 would be a much wiser decision, as it is the real DD monster, that eat's mile's like noone else.

The thing with the people's thought's is very annoying but unfortunately true and powerful...

Do you know how much a clutch job is on your 612?
I've heard that anything on v12 supercars (ferrari, lamborghini etc) is extremely expensive (2-3 times as expensive as on their smaller v8/v10 brothers)
Like 20k for a murcialago clutch install etc.
On the one side I wouln't want to find out, and on the other side i would (then I'd be owning one )

$2k/mo. for a used car out of warranty with high maintenance costs = not a car for at least 99.9% of the population.

This!

Even a 'cheap' exotic that can be acquired at a steep discount will never be cheap to maintain....

It's not the price, no. An Aventador is well within my financial comfort zone, but there are different reasons why I didn't choose it, primary of which I have never been a fan of the styling. I wanted a powerful GT and the choices were a couple Astons or the M6.

No not at all.
Lamborghini offered me 24 month dealer guarantee + 1 year Lamborghini guarantee on top.

For maintance they would drive down to my area and pick up the gallardo with an "neutral" truck, then deliver it the same way.

Okay that's an argument, you mentioned different reason's but revealed just one.
Would you be so kind and tell me, why you except the style, didn't choose the lambo route?
An aventator isn't cheaper as an huracan, hence they are differently styled and there is also the allready mentioned gallardo on the market, so what were the other reason's?
