2104 BMW Z4 with Hyper Orange package

Hey All,
For the sake of interest, we just got in a 2014 BMW Z4 sDrive35i with the Hyper Orange package at Center BMW. The Hyper Orange package includes Valencia Orange metallic paint (the same paint color used exclusively on the very rare 1M). It also includes a special interior with black leather/Alcantara seats with orange center stripes and contrast stitching, orange lower dash, and orange Alcantara door panel inserts. You can see pictures of the car here as well:

Thanks,
Jon

For a car that's 90 years in the future, they sure didn't change much. Is bmw going the 911 route now with the Z4?

I think you misunderstood the post. This guy works at a dealership and he's advertising the car, not bragging on his new ride.

Haha! I guess they didn't phase out the Z4 after all!

My Atacama Yellow 35iS lease ends in January and I need to decide whether to buy it or lease a replacement. I leased because I wasn't sure I'd like the color after umpteen years, but it's been my favorite car ever and I absolutely love the color. I also didn't have an iPhone when I ordered so didn't get the BMW Apps option, so if I buy it I'll have to get that added.

I'm intrigued by the orange, but I'm not a fan of metallics and I think it may be darker than I really want. Here's hoping I can find a dealer (of the 2 in my state...) that has the actual color to look at.

Sure. That's not my primary criterion, though. These cars are not really about practicality and affordability.

I can afford to drive what I want. The problem is figuring out what I want.

I too have an Atacama Yellow Z4. When the Hyper Orange came out, I was actually really disappointed as I just recently got the Z4, and orange is a preferred color over yellow for me in general. But as you mentioned, it is a metallic color and looking at the pictures, isn't really the orange as you would think of (bright and colorful) but in my opinion more so a tinted orange. Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful color, but when I got to see it in person, I am glad I got an Atacama Yellow. Very bright and uplifting color, while the Hyper orange, despite being an orange, is a lot more subtle. I would keep the Z4 over getting another one in orange, especially since the AY is no longer a production color. Now... if only I can get rid of those roof rattles...

One thing to note though, it is a metallic color so in the direct sun you will get that bling that our AY will never achieve... but the yellow is so bright in the direct sun it's eye catching in a whole different manner.

I tried to catch Valencia Orange with my Camera, but I did not succeed. The color is so different in real life and also depending how sunlight is falling on it. Every time I see my Z in the parking lot it looks different. From a slight brown to a real orange everything was in between.

Conclusion for me is that I have to see the colors personally before I order a car. I had the same for Moonstone on my F11, bad in pictures, but sooooo nice in real life.

Looks like you just got into the M3. Congrats, got the last of the N/A high-revving V8s... however, by the time your lease is up, there may not even be a Z4 anymore...
