New Wheels Rubbing Fender

i got myself a new set of 19 inch deep concave wheels for my Sdrive23i.
Having some rubbing issues for my rear wheels. It takes place when i travel at high speeds on uneven roads.

Did a check and found that the black plastic under the fender is damaged from friction from the tyres.

Any solutions?
i am very keen to keep this set of rims.

really?? maybe the body of the 23i is diff from the 35i, because no one has problem with 265s in the rear and there are members running 275s.

did you lower your suspension?

i think its because my offset is 30mm.
I did not lower the suspension.
Has anyone explored fender rolling?

Thanks for your quick response Memphis.

oh, yeah if the offset is 30, you might have a problem. i assume the 'outside' of the tire is rubbing.

here's the diff from factory 19" rims to yours.
10mm MORE clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 10mm

Don't roll the fenders ruin the look of car. Try using 10mm spacers, should fix the problem. H&R make some good quality ones.

Rocky99, did you hear any sound/noise when the rubbing happens? I am not sure if I have similar issues since I have similar tire specs. Just that I am using BMW 313 which shouldn't have offset problems...i suppose.

Thanks for everyone's response.

Yes I do hear a soft split second barking sound when the rubbing happens.

I think my over-aggressive offset is to create the depth of the concavity in the rear wheels. Offset is +30 vs the acceptable 33-35mm.

The installer asked me to consider to remove the black plastic under the fender to prevent rubbing. Anyone idea whats the purpose of this part?

Sorry i haven't managed to get a closeup pic of the rear wheel and the damage under the fender.

This is how the car looks.

There's also another member on the forum from Singapore that has the same wheels if I'm not mistaken. They do look good though!

i took a look at the gallery section.
E89-sg uses a different wheel - a few times more costly than mine.

the rubbing, to be exact, is taking place between the tire sidewall and the outer lip of the wheel arch trim.

part no. 6 - outer lip

i was advised to remove the entire wheel arch trim but am worried of corrosion issues if mud/water splashes onto the underside of the fender.
any opinion on this? thanks.
