It must do to some extent! Although there are many other factors involved such as differences in taxes, shipping, volume sold etc.

The old Z4 3.0si is shown at about the same price as the 335i E92, so that would put the new one probably between the E92 and E93 so 40-50k base for the sDrive35i. I wouldn't be surprised to see it nudging the E93 though at the top end of that range.

A nice spec E93 can stand for $65k on the BMWUSA.com site, which is where I'd expect a nice spec E89 to come out.

Much higher and it challenges the M3, much lower and it challenges the E93 335i.

Thats true. The Z4M cost AUD$130 000 here in OZ. Pre owner ones are still 80-90k.
Hell you even get cars we build here cheaper in the states then we pay.

I know a guy who drives an old pickup truck who is worth well into the 8 figure range....he can hang with all of us and probably buy and sell the majority of us many times over

Don't stress over that arrogant p$!<K. That is someone who probably can't qualify to lease a BMW (but dreaming about it) or is leasing one and is exactly the kind of person he is talking about (poser trying to look like he has money). BMW's (some of which are not expensive) are sold to anyone and everyone. I don't see the cars starting at $100,000 so his rant about the lesser 'base models' and the people who buy them just reflect the obviously 'small' problem and insecurities this guy has. You would think if he lived the 'lifestyle' as he says, he would be a lot more cheerful. If he truly owns and drives an M6 or a high-end, then he should simply be thankful that he has the means to do that and wish the little people well who drive entry level 3 series. Too bad we can't vote people off...
