Buying this car with the wrong wheels could be a big mistake!

I prefer the look of some of the earlier prototypes that had the bigger multi-spoke wheels.

I still can't believe it doesn't have front fog lights.

I actually like the way BMW is slowly removing fog lights from certain models. They're kinda pointless if you think about it, and the car looks more aggressive without them.

Besides, it's lame when people drive with them on all the time.

As of right now, the M5 and 135i don't have them, so it makes sense to add the Z to that list.

Hmmm - good point. I forgot the 135i doesn't have them. The M3 doesn't have them either.

red german plates?

What are these red-lettered German plates we are seeing on these spy shots- I thought only Belgium had the red-lettered plates in the EU?

in one of the pictures of the gold z4 you can see amber in the z4 front lights housing, if this is the same as in the pre-facelift e90 or other models this is going to be whack as hell!!!!!!

Hello, all....new here but have been lurking for about a year.

@teezee: The red plates are temporary plates used by most werkstatts (mechanic shops) and autohandlers (dealers) to transport/drive cars around. I'm surprised that most of these shots originate in Munich (denoted by the "M" on the plate) as the convertibles are supposedly being built in Regensberg since E85 production ended early september in S.C. These shots are right outside BMW AG and I'll bet they have a few M protos already in Garching a little north of there. Germany usu has the next gen cars running around months before with little but the plastic camo on. I remember seeing the production M pass me on A93-A9-A3 at 250kph plus (i was doing 220kph in a 530id touring ) and then later on going to ship a car at EH Harms, there was a full fledged red e46 m3 sitting behind a chain link fence. Still have the pic!

I think Autobild has a very accurate rendering. The hood opening and some of the proportions are very much like the Z3's. The car is definitely more "Feminine" in appearance.

A little about me...loved BMW's ever since i was a kid (first love was a 635csi on moonlighting!) Then my cousins burgundy 2002ti. My first new bmws, schwarz 00323i e46 and topaz 02 330ci. (still have). Latest is my 07 e85 3.0si with the N52, so i'm watching this car with great interest and anticipation. Finally, i'm a BMW prod specialist by profession but currently working as an internal consultant with Nissan and it's GT-R

Sonora is more gold. This looks like mineral silver or maybe platinum bronze. It could also be a new color we have not seen. Sonora is DISGUSTING and this color is def not sonora.

No, this engine is R6. There won't be 4 cylinder engine in Z4 (at least at beginning).
