Any problems with pointed front when parking?

The E89 has quite a pointed front. Some say it has a shark noise.

I still have problems when I have to park near a wall on a small spot. I never had any problems with my E36/7 Z3 or E85 Z4. And if you hit an object with these cars, only the license plate is doomed. But the E89 is a different story. Result, one small scratch between the kidneys in 19 months of ownership.

Any orientation tips?
Ok, do not park in a small spot near a wall

The PDC helps a lot but I have scraped a low curb several times even with that.

You've got to sense the end of your bonnet... You can use the high beams to judge how far You are from the front wall... But certainly the PDC are your best solution here...

I always reverse into my parking spot. Just go very slow if you must drive front-first.

+1.
I always try to park reverse. Also, PDC is must for E89.

Yes but the hood is 2 feet longer than most front drivers and the front slopes away where a short driver can't see it.

I used to be almost 5' 6" when I was younger. Now I'm older and shorter. I have no problems knowing where the front of the Z is, in fact I can see the hood edges better than in the wifes E46. Rubbish on the short driver comments and the need for PDC.

I wish the car was smaller though. It's about the same length as a Honda Civic. Crazy.

I am pretty sure you cannot park 1cm close to the wall everytime you park without PDC.
One mistake, cost for painting = the price for PDC.
If I was the only driver, I wouldn't pay extra for PDC.
But, my wife. NO way.
