I bought a similar thing from ESS Tuning (I think?, I'd have to check the receipts) about a year ago.

You don't really need this item/adapter. I've jacked up the wifes E46 vert hundreds of times and the Z4 to change the oil using a low profile AL floor jack with no issues. Same rubber jack pad on most recent BMW's.

I made a block of wood to fit, it just didn't do it for me. Why cheap out to jack up a $70,000 car ? So I got the real thing.
to each their own I say.

Don't see the need. I have jacked up my car quite a few times with no need for one of these - my hydraulic jacks pad seems to fit fine. Just more 'stuff' to clutter up the garage.
