Misc storage questions

1. In the trunk, there are these 2 sets of short velcro strips from the back.

2. In the trunk, there are 2 rubber strips on the 'floor'.

2. On the wall behind the seats, there are a couple of metal hooks and also on the base of the ledge, there are some plastic square things.

What are these for and how can I use them for storage purposes? Are there other not-so-obvious storage areas that I have missed?

The velcro strips are designed to hold a ski holding bar which comes with the ski passthrough option.

The metal hooks are designed for child seats...

I thought that I read it quite thoroughly...must have missed these.

Assuming I am referring to the correct parts, those are the shelves of the storage package in the ski pass thru.

didn't the salesman go through the car with you when you got it ?

That's his /her job. Go back and pin him down and ask all the questions...after reading every page in the manual

Couldn't find anything in the manual that detailed the storage pass through specifically with regard to little plastic square things, but take a look at these pics to see if it's what you're talking about. Otherwise you'll need to take some digital photos and upload them so we can see what you're talking about.

I'm wondering about the plastic things in the red circles that should be underneath the netting.

In the green circle, someone said that they are childseat latches?

The upper chrome hooks (green circles) are just for tie downs for luggage you put behind the seat on the shelf - like tying a grocery bag to them.
The connection at the very bottom on the last photo (under the parcel shelf) that looks like a bent metal bar is the child safety tie down for a child's car seat.
Not sure about the bits you have in red circles... on my car there are just two square cover plates for the bolts that hold the net in place... Certainly nothign that could be counted as a storage bin...

Just checking if it is possible to have the pass-through removable storage compartment but no ski-bag accessory? This is for Canadian-domestic mkt, not sure if USDM is the same.

The ski pass thru bag is an option although some parts people don't know how to find it. Mine came with it but it was swiped by a salesman and they had to replace it. A real song and dance ....

So you had to specifically order it since it was an option? I guess the edge of the trunk near the back of the car also has ski fasteners?

I just got the bag without the ski support frame, it was in the car as an option on the showroom floor. I use it for "other" long items that don't fit in the trunk with the roof down. If you search around you can find pics of the complete ski support system.

In the UK the "Spice-Rack" is standard, so if you order the 'pass-thru' ski-jobbie-thingy you get to keep the spice-rack and end up with both.

I don't ski, but I want the optional pass-thru storage.

I guess if the salesman had explained it to me before I purchased I wouldn't have bothered with it.

The spice-rack unclips to expose the 'pass-thru' whether or not you order the ski thing.

Sheesh, does any of that make sense........................

Mine has the Ski bag, but in my cubby box there's a first aid kit, and no shelves?
