What tire pressure to set for non-RFT (Pirelli PZero) in a tropical environment?
Howdy guys,
I just got a new set of non-RFT tires, Pirelli P Zeros to be exact. The tires are on the 18 inch rims from M package (225/40/18 and 255/35/18). I understand the factory setting for the original OEM run flat tires are 36psi and 42 psi front and rear respectively for the US market (this is where i first had my car for about 9 months). So my questions are in two phases: 1. Now I am running non-RFT tires, should the tire pressure be higher or lower than the factory recommended settings? 2. I have shipped my car to Taiwan, a tropical country with summer temperature climbing well into the 90s, how should I adjust, scale down on the tire presure? Thanks! Hank |

The pzeros have a rather hard ''heel'' and it takes some time to warm them up.
29-30 psi on all corners is reported to optimize their efficiency, they will start gripping properly after 5 km and you will prevent building up excessive thermal pressure when driving hard. If you hear them squeezing/fizzing a lot try 32-33. You 'll hate them if you go up further. |
