I was looking at a 350z convertible or 2009 corvette convertible, they have more power and yadda yadda blah blah but i made up my mind a long time ago when i drove my friends Deep blue E89. Looks to kill and it handles great with that adaptive suspension. I love my E85 and it gives me more problems then all the other car's i've owned but It's worth it.
I understand that.. And I don't..

I love my e89, I've had it years.

I despise all I've had to go through with it.

Reminds me of the saying - "For every beautiful woman, there is a man that is sick of her".

I've had very little issues with my E92 335i, so I'm hoping the good luck carries over

I don't, not by what i've gone through with an older model. What i do despise was the 1988 325i my pop bought. It needed CONSTANT maintenance, and its overheating problems took away any semblance of happiness i had for the car. The previous owner must've just squatted and taken a big one all over that car because it was in horrible condition when he bought it. Should've just bought a less abused engine.

Using that same analogy I think Z4 is a "date" not a "marry"

I dunno, I feel sorry that Maniac has had so many prbs. For me, there were a few minor issues in the 1st few mths of ownership but it has been fine for me so far, and I bet that I've driven it the most, if not up there in mileage.

I've really enjoyed how the car looks, the car feels, its pwr and nice handling. It's all good (save for the stupid symmetric flappy paddles...wish I had the updated ones w/ the proper -/+ setup). Still in love after 2.5 yrs+.

Well, I also have a license plate that basically says "What is love? Baby don't hurt me" :

I feel like with BMWs it's a crap shoot. I think I've read a few studies where BMW's reliability is actually a little better than the industry average. But I think some people end up with cars that have a lot of issues, while others end up with cars that are mostly trouble free. Luck of the draw I guess.

Garage List
I had two Z4s one 2008 e85 30is traded that in after approximatley 7 month ownership for a 2009 e89 35i and kept that car for about one year. I have to confess I was very disappointed after having 296 cracked wheel issues and decided to trade her in for a M3.

Yes as some of my friends here suggested I had a choice to get different wheels like a forged set of wheels with none-run flat tires. However, since I originally came from a 2002 M3 my decission was to trade the e89 for a M3.

If the 296 wheel issue would have not surficed I would proberly still drive my Z4 for it is a great car ... Being retired I need a car I can rely on and not spend days in some motel waiting for replacement wheels.

The moral of my story is ... If I had done my research property I would have got that e89 with other then the 19 inch 296 wheels. I would then properly still drive the Z4 as said it's a great car and if well cared for should last a long time.
