I am in the Northeast and I find the heated seats very effective. I love heat, but I find that I have to turn these down to the lowest setting after a short while. I think they are better than the ones in the first generation Z4 because I don't recall having to always put them on the lowest setting. The heated seats are a must.

I have the heated seats in my '09 35i and would echo what you've read in many of the previous replies, on high you'll be checking to see if your a.. is on fire! They work great...

Mine work well, but they are much better, e.g., more coverage in the back area, in the 535.
