Steering wheels from E90x?

Do they swap into our cars? Thanks!

No they don't. unless you want to make a major changes in the whole steering wheel console...(Which I don't really think you want to do that!!!)

E89 35i DCT.

Which steering wheels do cross over? Old Z4s used the same as old E46s 3s, I assumed similar for our cars given we share quite a bit otherwise with E9x 3s.

I switched from an E93 to a Z4. I had on my E93 The OEM Performance SW. They did not fit on the Z4.
1. The Airbag bracket size is different
2. The screws location are different.
3. The thickness in the base steering wheel is different (The E93 PSW is has a bigger/thicker base than my actual Z4 35i SW base)

Yes I was aware we had our own airbag, one would need to use the E9x airbag with the E9x steering wheel.

Screw locations do vary between steering wheels slightly. As long as it bolts up and the connectors connect up properly, its not a problem.

The base thickness is more interesting. The main steering bolt is likely longer on the E9x cars as well.

Note you would likely also need to use a E9x slipring.

I am very surprised it didn't bolt up. I have been swapping between BMW wheels for years on the older models without much difficulty.

Let me know if you come up with something... To me it was not a slightly different screw location or a longer screw versus a shorter. The PSW just did not fit all...
But I am not an expert here...

Well I am going to try something and see what I come up with.

I have a spare generic E9x steering wheel I can poke around with.

Just comparing images of our wheel vs the E9x wheel, its close. I will formally try later this week.
