Email via BMW Online in Connected Drive
How to setup Email via BMW Online in Connected Drive ? This is not mobile office.
I called BMW NA and asked them how to setup email via BMW Online in connected drive. http://www.bmw.com/com/en/insights/t...one/index.html They said I am referring to International site (as it is not bmwusa.com) and it is not supported in US. I also tried to login into my BMW Assist account here: https://www.bmw-assist-login.com/cdp...n?locale=en_UK After entering my ID and password and clicking on Login, I see a blank page. BMW NA says they don't know about that site as it is international. Appreciate any help. |

If I'm not mistaken, this isn't available for the NA market; could be wrong, but thought this was a UK thing. That said, if it's email/texts et that you're after, why not use the supplied BMW Office feature? Works with other smart/superphones other than blackberry....works with my Samsung GSII as well and I believe HTC devices too.

Right, Apple devices are indeed not supported as yet. Has to do with the MAP (Bluetooth Message Access Profile)....this bit of code does not yet exist on iPhones. You can send your feedback to Apple here, but doubtful they're reading it.
http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html I know the GSII & HTC devices support MAP as well as other types of access profiles (supplied by the manufacturer of the device, not the OS developer). Yes, I get my text messages without issue, but sometimes my emails in iDrive lag a minute or two behind my GSII; not a big deal for me, but does work. Dave

Thanks Dave. I didn't know about MAP until I read your post. Thanks! I picked up a BlackBerry Torch 9860 from at&t. Works fine - Text messages, Emails, Service Messages. Calendar comes from 'BMW Connected' app in iPhone. Text messages are immediate. Emails take a while (depending on if the email provider supports BlackBerry services). Still playing with the BlackBerry and will decide within 30days return period.
